Auto-replacements
Typing certain characters becomes a typographic symbol — dashes, arrows, ellipses.
How it works
As you type certain character sequences, Snownotes automatically replaces them with the corresponding typographic symbol. This happens inline as soon as the pattern is completed, and can always be undone immediately with CtrlZ if the replacement wasn't what you intended.
Dashes
Type -- (two hyphens) to insert an en dash (–), commonly used for ranges like "10–20." Type a third hyphen after the en dash to convert it to an em dash (—), used for parenthetical statements and breaks in thought.
Arrows
Type <- for a left arrow (←), -> for a right arrow (→), and <-> for a bidirectional arrow (↔). For vertical arrows, type |^ for up (↑), |v for down (↓), and ^|v for a vertical bidirectional arrow (↕). These are handy for diagrams, instructions, and technical notes.
