Slash commands

Insert blocks, toggle formatting, and run utilities from a quick / menu.

How to use

Type / (forward slash) at the start of a line or after a space to open the slash command menu. A floating popup appears with a list of available commands. Start typing to filter the list by name — for example, typing /h1 will filter down to "Heading 1." Use the / arrow keys to navigate the list and press Enter to insert the selected item. Press Escape to dismiss the menu without inserting anything.

Block types

The slash menu lets you insert a variety of block types: Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3, Todo List, Bullet List, Numbered List, Table (inserts a 3×3 grid), Code Block (with syntax highlighting), Quote (blockquote), and Divider (horizontal rule).

Inline formatting

You can also toggle inline formatting from the slash menu: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Highlight, and Inline Code. These are applied to the current selection or toggled for subsequent typing.

Utilities

The slash menu includes several text utilities. "Clear Formatting" strips all marks from the current block and resets it to a plain paragraph. The case conversion commands — Convert to UPPERCASE, lower case, Sentence case, and Title Case — transform all the text in the current block to the chosen casing.

Date and time stamps

Quickly insert the current date or time at the cursor position. Two date formats are available: a full format (e.g., "Apr 29, 2026, at 9:05 AM") and a short format (e.g., "Apr 29, 2026"). There is also a time-only option (e.g., "9:05am"). All formats respect your 12-hour or 24-hour preference from Settings → Time & date.
