We're live! Our closed beta has officially started
Snownotes is in closed beta. A small group of people are using it for their actual notes, which is the only reliable way to find out what's wrong with it.
What that means
We've been building this for a while, and there's a limit to what you learn from using your own app. The first invites went out to people who write a lot and were willing to tell us when something got in their way. They have been, and the list of things to fix has grown accordingly.
Most of what comes back isn't dramatic - a shortcut that behaves differently on one platform, something that looks wrong at a narrow window width, a message that doesn't explain itself. It's the kind of thing you only find by watching someone use the app for work they care about, and it's the reason for running a beta at all rather than shipping and hoping.
Want an invite?
We're keeping the group small for now so we can keep up with what people send us, but we're adding people steadily.

We'll keep writing here as things land, including the things that went wrong on the way. If you haven't seen it yet, the introduction post covers what the app does today.
