Organization

Categories, tags, colors, pinning, archiving, and sorting.

Categories

Create categories from the sidebar to group related notes into logical collections (e.g., "Work," "Personal," "Projects"). Each category has a custom name and icon that you choose. Click the Edit button in the sidebar to rename, reorder, or delete categories. Assign a note to a category from the category button in the document toolbar, right-click a note in the document list and select a category from the context menu, or simply drag and drop the note card directly onto a category in the sidebar. You can also drag and drop categories in the sidebar tree vertically to reorder them.

Tags

Type #tag anywhere in the body of a note to create a tag — for example, #meeting or #idea. Tags are extracted automatically and appear in the sidebar tag cloud. Click any tag in the sidebar to filter your document list to show only notes containing that tag. You can filter by multiple tags at once; notes must match all selected tags to appear in the results.

Note colors

Assign a color to any note from the color picker in the document toolbar, or from the document context menu. Colors tint the editor background and also appear as a colored strip on the note's card in the document list. This gives you a quick visual way to categorize or prioritize notes at a glance.

Pinning

Pin important notes to keep them permanently at the top of the document list, regardless of the current sort order. Toggle the pin from the pin button in the document toolbar, or right-click a note in the document list and select "Pin." Pinned notes display a small flag icon.

Archiving

Archive notes you want to keep but hide from your everyday view. Archived notes do not appear in search results, filter views, or the main document list unless you explicitly select the "Archived" filter from the view selector. You can archive and unarchive notes from the right-click context menu in the document list, or from the Properties tab in the inspector panel.

Sorting

Sort your document list by Updated (newest or oldest first), Created (newest or oldest first), Name (A–Z or Z–A), Size (largest or smallest first), or Color (colorful first or last). Click the sort button at the bottom of the document list to open the sort menu. Clicking the same sort key again toggles between ascending and descending order.
